UK Directors Identity Verification – Mandatory from 18 November 2025
From 18 November 2025, all company directors and people with significant control (PSCs) will be legally required to verify their identity under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023.
The mandate will kick in on each company on the day on which the company’s confirmation statement falls due.
Every company representative will need to provide the personal code and a verification statement for each director and PSC on the confirmation statement. If you do not do this, your company will not be able to submit the filing.
If you’re a director of multiple companies, you’ll need to do this for each company separately, using the same personal code each time.
If you have an accountant, they will be registered as Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) to verify your identity on your behalf. When an accountant has agreed to verify your identity, you’ll need to give them documents from an approved list as evidence of your identity. There may be additional charges for the services.
